I studied Mathematics at Imperial College and wanted to start a career in accountancy, so took the top 50 accountancy firms from Accountancy Age as a starting point and looked around to see what the firms were like and what they had to offer. This is how I came across Kingston Smith, and it has been a great opportunity – as well as getting immediate experience in the working environment both in the office and at client premises, we study for professional qualifications to further our careers. The combination of study and practical work experience is great, as you are not doing the same thing every week and it really helps you understand the industry. Kingston Smith is a very good firm for trainees as it takes on a number each year so understands our needs, giving a lot of support all the way through, often from people who have been through the same training process.
