Pre-Budget Report: Old Boilers

As part of the Chancellor’s package of Green measures and following the success of the car scrappage scheme, if the boiler in your home is old and inefficient, you will be able to claim £400 from the Government off the cost of buying a new one – which could then shave as much as £230 a year off your heating bills, as well as pumping less carbon into the atmosphere.

Comment: The scrappage scheme will be available to 125,000 households using G-rated boilers. The details are still being developed but in the meantime, if you are considering replacing your boiler and you qualify, you may want to consider holding off making the decision until the full details are announced.
