Sir Michael Snyder has been Senior Partner of Kingston Smith since 1990 and before that he was Managing Partner for 11 years. He trained and qualified with the firm, joining in 1968. In addition to a considerable and varied client commitment, including professional practices, business advice and negotiations, he is also responsible for the management of the firm.

He is a Common Councilman of the City of London Corporation and was until April 2008 Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee, effectively the leader of the City of London’s Government and in particular responsible for policy direction, relations with national, regional and local Government, European Union and City businesses, Economic Development and allocation of resources.

Michael is chairing the Chancellor’s Professional Services Competitiveness Group with the City Minister looking at the medium and long term competitiveness of all the UK’s professional services and has been involved in advising Government on SME issues for some years and continues to actively promote the interests of SME’s and the need for financing by "business angels" including as Chairman of the London Business Loans (Wholesale) Ltd which lends to SME’s in London . He is actively involved in the Economic Regeneration of the Thames Gateway Sub-Region and sits on the Board of Thames Gateway London Partnership. Michael is also Chairman of Gateway of London - the agency for Thames Gateway.

Michael is also a Governor of the London Metropolitan University, the City of London School for Girls and Brentwood School in Essex, of which he is also Vice Chairman and Treasurer. He has been a keen Narrow boater for 35 years and is interested in the Inland Waterways generally, music, gardening and the City of London where he is on the Court of two Livery companies.
