Martin Muirhead – Head of Property

Martin is the head of the property group and regularly advises on tax structuring for investors be they resident and non resident, individuals or corporate entities into commercial property, construction businesses and developers of both residential and commercial property. Martin regularly lectures at Henry Stewart Conferences, the Kingston Smith seminar programme and
at many private events.

Heather Powell (City office)

Heather has considerable experience working with clients in the property sector, ranging from developers and investors to the many businesses providing services to the property sector. Heather’s portfolio includes entrepreneurial businesses with both on and offshore structures and the services provided includes not only tax planning advice but also the preparation of management accounts, VAT returns, statutory accounts and tax compliance.

David Benton (Romford office)

David works with constructors, developers and investors as well as professional practices in the property sector. He helps property clients optimise their business structures for ownership of property, to minimise tax and effect exit routes when required. David has particular knowledge of offshore structures and complex tax arrangements.

David Montgomery (Redhill office)

David works with property developers and investors, construction businesses and property professionals. These range from small developers completing a single development a year to groups comprising a number of separate entities carrying out both development and investment activity. David’s role working with these businesses includes tax planning to ensure the client’s property interests are structured appropriately to reduce the exposure to direct, indirect and capital taxes.

Jonathan Seymour (Hayes office)

As a general practice partner, Jonathan acts for a mixed portfolio of businesses providing audit, accounting, taxation and strategic advice. As a key member of the property group, he specialises in advising all types of property companies, including investment, property trading, development and construction companies. He also has detailed knowledge on the Construction Industry Scheme and has lectured on this subject.

Nigel Birch (St Albans office)

Experienced in working with businesses in the construction and property industries, Nigel’s client’s are typically owner managed companies and partnerships. Nigel provides the full range of audit, accounting and tax services to investors, developers and construction businesses. Nigel is a Non-Executive Director of KSFA, a Kingston Smith owned company providing independent financial advice.
