John Staniforth

John Staniforth became a partner at the City office in May 2003, having joined Kingston Smith as a graduate trainee in August 1996.
As a general practice partner, John acts for a mixed portfolio of owner managed businesses, providing audit, accounting, taxation and general business advice. John has considerable knowledge and experience in advising professional partnerships, particularly law firms, and he is head of our professional firms group for solicitors. John also specialises in acting for property companies and is a member of the firm's property sector group.
His extensive knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and his considerable experience in advising professional partnerships in all areas of financial management and tax planning led him to write the book "Financial Management for Solicitors and the Solicitors' Accounts Rules", which was published by Tolleys Butterwoths.
As well as his client responsibilities, John is also the firm's HR partner, responsible for firm-wide recruitment and training on a day-to-day basis.
