Moira's team provides forensic accounting and expert witness services in the context of legal disputes. They usually act as independent experts, with their over-riding duty being to the court. Subject to this, the team acts in the best interests of its clients by providing honest, professional opinions on a timely and cost-effective basis in accordance with the protocols that apply to expert witness work. In this respect, they apply a meticulous method to every case, ensuring that nothing is overlooked.
Having been involved in forensic accounting and expert witness work for over twenty years, Moira has given evidence in the High Court on many occasions, as well as in Criminal and Magistrates Courts. In addition, in 2008 her casebook of professional negligence claims against auditors and accountants called ‘Audit and Accountancy Pitfalls’ was published.
Moira has been involved in numerous contentious share valuations, including the UK’s largest egg suppliers and TV and radio networks. The fraud and other criminal investigations in which she has been involved include embezzlement by a major institution involved in the arts and confiscation orders against drug dealers, counterfeit traders and tax evaders.
