Neil Finlayson joined the firm as a partner in 2001, having worked for a number of medium sized practices. He has a wide spectrum of clients, but has specialised in providing services to the charities, education, religious organisations, trade and professional associations sectors.
His extensive relevant experience ranges from preparatory schools such as Staines Preparatory School and Upton House School (Windsor) to senior schools like Northwood College, Palmers Green High School, St Columba’s College and Preparatory School (St Albans), and senior schools with boarding such as Queenswood School (Herts.), through to complex groups such as Kingham Hill Trust and Oak Hill College and higher level institutions such as the Royal College of Organists and the European School of Osteopathy. He also audits and advises the Catholic Independent Schools Conference (CISC).
Neil lectures and writes regularly on matters relating to the charity and education sectors. He was one of the founding members of Charity Finance Directors Group (CFDG) and regularly contributes to the handbook, as well as co-writing the original NCVO Trustees Guide and their guide on Charity Financial Management (SORP 2005 edition).
Neil is a technical reviewer for the Chartered Institute’s Charity Annual Accounts and Review Awards. He helped establish and continues to teach on the diploma/MSc in Charity Finance, Fundraising and Grant-making at City University.
