Brexit Debate: One year on
Article 50 has been triggered and the clock is now officially ticking down to Brexit. All eyes are on Theresa May as negotiations begin with the EU and the UK seeks to lay the groundwork for trade deals outside Europe. Since our last debate, the EU has made it clear that it cannot strike a deal that is too advantageous for the UK if it wants to keep the Union together – so the question is, how ‘hard’ a Brexit will it be?
A year after we launched our EU debate series, our speakers are reuniting to share their thoughts and opinions on what shape Brexit might take and the future of the UK’s economic and business landscape.
Our latest debate will be chaired by Sir Michael Snyder, who apart from being a partner for 42 years, lead the firm for 37 years; first as Managing Partner, and from 1990 as Senior Partner. He is also an elected Member of the City of London where he was the Chairman of Policy and Resources, for over five years.
We are delighted to welcome back our four panel members: Lord Flight, Mark Boleat, Jean-Pierre Larroze and Christian Clingen.
Lord Howard Flight is a Conservative politician and a member of the House of Lords. He also holds various Director and Chairman positions in commercial organisations.
Mark Boleat is Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee at the City of London Corporation, leading on policy issues affecting London as a key international financial centre.
Jean-Pierre Larroze is the Managing Partner of French accountancy firm, Aplitec, and was instrumental in founding an international association of accountancy firms.
Christian Clingen is a Partner at German accountancy firm WTG.
If you can’t make it, don’t worry. We will be live streaming the debate and it will also be available on our Youtube channel after the event.
However, we do hope you can join us for what will be a very lively discussion.
