Kingston Smith partner, Nick Winters, accredited as an ATOL-reporting accountant

Kingston Smith partner, Nick Winters, has been accredited as an ATOL-reporting accountant.

An Air Travel Organisers Licence (ATOL) protects consumers from losing money or being stranded abroad. Travel firms which sell holiday packages that include flights must have an ATOL and the majority of UK tour operators are required to hold an ATOL licence in order to sell air travel legally.

The ATOL Reporting Accountants’ scheme has been developed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to improve the standard of ATOL reporting and ensure that financial information submitted on behalf of ATOL holders is accurate. The scheme is designed to ensure that accredited accountants have the right level of knowledge about the industry and specific requirements of ATOL to provide the required assurance needed by the CAA and help to reduce overall risks in the market due to ATOL holders reporting inaccurate financial information.
