Dan’s clients attest that he has what he describes as a ‘roll-my-sleeves-up-and-get-it-done’ attitude. He is accessible and approachable, and works hard to put himself in his clients’ shoes. He sees one of his most important roles as being a ‘technical translator’, rather than simply just an adviser who is responsible for relaying facts in complicated language, explaining everything in as simple a manner as possible.
Dan has an overwhelming desire to see his clients succeed and believes that he can save them time and resources by offering purposeful solutions thus resolving their problems. He deals almost exclusively with individuals and owner-managed businesses of varied sizes.
He joined Kingston Smith as a graduate trainee in 1997 and became a partner in 2008. He has steadily built up his client base and works across a range of entrepreneurial business sectors including property, professional firms, healthcare and manufacturing. Dan is also a member of Kingston Smith’s Governance Board.
In his spare time, Dan likes to spend time with his wife and two small children and is a fan of geocaching which involves using a variety of navigational techniques to find hidden containers, called geocaches, which could be anywhere in the world.
Kingston Smith have the breadth of expertise of a large accountancy firm, but don't carry the same large-firm attitude (of charge-for-picking-up-the-phone, or high churn of staff, or exorbitant fees). I deal with a number of individuals there who are excellent but my main contact is Mr Martine (who is a Partner there) and has been a genuine superstar since Day 1.
