James is the Managing Director of the Fundraising and Management business unit and supports a wide range of clients with high value fundraising and strategy advice. Following a marketing role in the automotive sector, James moved into the charity sector where he has gained a breadth of fundraising experience over the last decade.

In his time leading the team at Kingston Smith, James has helped hundreds of charities with fundraising strategies and developed an international portfolio of clients. With a particular interest in contributing to the growing dialog of impact measurement, he is frequently invited to speak about this at conferences.

James holds a Masters from Cass Business School in Grantmaking, Philanthropy and Social Investment and the ICAEW’s Diploma in Charity Accounting. Recently, James was appointed as a visiting lecturer at Cass, contributing to the delivery of the Fundraising and Marketing modules on the Charity MSc programme. He was featured in Charity Finance Magazine’s ‘25 under 35’ rising stars in the charity advisory field, is an active Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants, and is an enthusiastic volunteer; supporting a number of charities with fundraising and strategy advice.
