Nicola joined Kingston Smith in 2013 as a principal in the corporate finance team.
Nicola has over twenty years’ experience providing corporate finance lead advisory services to a wide variety of quoted and private companies. She has advised on public offers, AIM admissions, private company acquisitions and disposals, management buyouts and the raising of debt, development and venture capital.
Having spent six years working within the publishing industry prior to embarking upon a career in corporate finance, Nicola has focused upon publishing transactions in particular and on the wider media sector more broadly. She also has experience of a number of other sectors, including food and drink, business support services, retail and property.
Nicola’s recent deal experience includes the sale of the Theatre Royal Haymarket to Access Entertainment, the sale of Healthcircle to Fishawack Group, the sale of a majority stake in Code Computer Love to MediaCom (part of WPP); the sale of a significant stake in Albion Brand Communication to KBS; the management buyout of Media Business Insight backed by Mobeus Equity Partners; the sale of WRN Broadcast to Babcock International; the sale of Vivid Brand Communications to Publicis; the sale of Reef Television to Ten Alps; the sale of Flipside to Weber Shandwick; growth capital fundraising for The Pool; and the sale of Three Monkeys Communications to Zeno Group.
Nicola regularly attends media conferences and events such as the London International Book Fair, The Edinburgh TV Festival, MIPCOM and MIPTV. She has also written articles for trade publications, such as Broadcast and Media Week. She is a member of Women in Film and Television.
Nicola is a Classics graduate of Cambridge University and also holds a MA from the University of Kent and a MBA Finance from Cass Business School, where she is now a member of the MBA Advisory Board.
In her spare time, Nicola is a keen skier and is chairperson of the Stock Exchange Ski Club. She is also a regular theatre-goer and a passionate supporter of the arts, and is Treasurer of one of the UK’s leading theatrical charities, The Actors’ Children’s Trust.
