Ruth is a corporate tax partner delivering corporate tax compliance and advisory services to a broad range of clients.  Owner-managed, listed and private equity-backed businesses in the UK and internationally come to Ruth for advice on commercial and accounting matters, and the tax issues arising from them.

While she works across a wide range of industries, she has particular experience in the property sector. Ruth regularly advises non-UK and UK residents, both corporate and individual, on the tax aspects of UK property investment and development.

Her expertise covers all tax aspects of domestic and cross-border transactions. Her work includes acquisition and disposal structuring, demergers and corporate reorganisations along with tax compliance, reporting and HMRC dispute resolution. Ruth has a particular focus on transfer pricing, where she works with corporate groups. She helps them devise and validate their intercompany pricing strategies to ensure that they stand up to scrutiny in all the jurisdictions where they operate.

She also handles tax risk management, helping clients develop pragmatic solutions to meet their legal obligations, such as preventing the facilitation of tax evasion, publishing their tax strategy and complying with the senior accounting officer regime.

Clients comment that Ruth always puts herself in their shoes. They particularly like that she delivers clear advice and user-friendly step-plans that can actually be acted on, rather than impenetrable technical terminology and legislative references. Client feedback also highlights that she understands the value of responsiveness and proactivity when communicating with clients.

Outside work, she is a fan of live music and camping, and gets the opportunity to enjoy both on her annual trips to Glastonbury.
